In just a little over a week, a day dedicated entirely to supporting local will be here. Small Business Saturday returns to Downtown Kalamazoo on November 27 and with it a chance to get FREE Downtown Dollars!
That's right, Consumers Energy will be on the Kalamazoo Mall from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Small Business Saturday giving away $10 Downtown Dollars gift certificates (while supplies last).
So, grab your family and friends and kick off the season by shopping small. Your support makes a big difference to your community and downtown businesses.
Rocket Fizz will be opening a Pop-Up Toy Store for the holidays on the Kalamazoo Mall! Kalamazoo's staple candy store, known for it's wide array of candy and varieties of soda pop, will now have even more to enjoy this season. The toy store will feature many classic and retro toys, as well as more modern and educational.
The Black Arts & Cultural Center is an incredible organization that works to preserve Black cultural heritage and develop the potential and creativity in Blacks in the Kalamazoo area. The organization puts on numerous programs, ranging from Art Exhibitions, Film Viewings & Discussions, and Theatre, as well as events like the Black Arts Festival and Kwanzaa Celebration.

Santa's Workshop
November 27 – December 24
Join in the holiday festivities with a trip to visit Santa at the Radisson hotel! There will be a Santa letter writing kit given to kids who visit with materials and fun goodies inside. Several Santa mailboxes will be located downtown for families to send their letters to Santa. Event page
Window Decorating Content

Vote for the jolliest downtown business storefront this season! 20+ businesses will participate in the 4th annual Window Decorating Contest for some friendly holiday competition. Stop by and check out the lovely displays, shop local, and determine who YOU think is the winner! Event page
Maple Hill Kalamazoo Holiday Parade
November 20 – 11 am
Bundle up and come join us downtown for the 59th Kalamazoo Holiday Parade! 90+ parade units will make their way through the streets of downtown to celebrate the holiday season! Event page
Jennie Cook, a member of the Coalition for Place and People, is the Vice President of Administration, Operations at Discover Kalamazoo. Jennie believes that a healthy, diverse, and welcoming downtown is vital to our community. She can often be spotted downtown grabbing a drink at Final Gravity Brewing or at her favorite downtown retailer, Lana's Boutique.
