Street Rod Car Parade
- This event has passed.
Get ready for a one-of-a-kind car parade day as the National Street Rods Association takes its car show on the road. Sometime between noon and 1 p.m., cars will arrive along the downtown parade route. There could be as many as 100 cars parading through downtown on Water Street, Rose, Michigan, and the Kalamazoo Mall!
The route
The amazing Street Rod cars will start at the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds and travel on The AmVets Memorial Parkway to Downtown Kalamazoo. On Kalamazoo Ave, they will turn onto Water Street to start their Downtown Route for flag waving and oh’s and ah’s. From Water Street they will turn south onto Rose Street until they turn east on Michigan Avenue to the Kalamazoo Mall.
At the Kalamazoo Mall, the downtown stores will cheer the cars on as they travel on the S Kalamazoo Mall and Burdick Street until they reach Lake Street where they will head east all the way back to the Fairgrounds.
What do you do at a car parade?
First of all, you wave. You can cheer, and you can show the visitors to Kalamazoo that we love cars and are excited to have them in our community. The point of the parade is to welcome National Street Rods Association attendees to spread the word about the show!
Do we bring anything?
We will have pom-poms that you can use to cheer, and we will have welcome signs. And, we will be on the Kalamazoo Mall to help cheer and celebrate cars. It will be a great way to have lunch, enjoy downtown, and see some cool and unique cars!
