Over the past ten years, Imagine Kalamazoo 2025 has helped guide major initiatives that are now taking shape across downtown. Join the City of Kalamazoo and downtown partners to learn about this progress and explore what’s ahead in the next chapter for downtown Kalamazoo. This open house-style kickoff event launches a week of conversations and activities, bringing together projects, people, and ideas that will shape how downtown grows and evolves in the years ahead.

At This Event

Throughout the evening, you’ll be able to explore a series of displays and conversations highlighting major investments and initiatives across downtown. You’ll get a closer look at plans for the future of the Arcadia Creek Festival Place, and how this signature space will better support events, recreation, and everyday use.

You’ll also learn about placemaking efforts at Rose Street Plaza and Farmers Alley Plaza, where thoughtful design is helping create more welcoming, active public spaces.

In addition, you can explore what’s ahead for Kalamazoo Avenue and Michigan Avenue. These corridors are being reimagined to better serve everyone who uses them. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a drive simulation of the redesigned Michigan Avenue, offering a glimpse of how it may feel to move through downtown in the future. You’ll also learn about the critical infrastructure investments happening underground to prepare downtown for the future.
