Booze in Bronson Park? Kalamazoo may allow drinking there starting New Year’s Eve

The city of Kalamazoo is considering ringing in the new year with a new rule to allow drinking alcohol in Bronson Park, by adding the popular green space to a downtown zone where open booze containers are welcome, with some caveats.
The Kalamazoo City Commission previously approved a measure to allow people to carry cups of alcoholic beverages in a specific part of downtown. The city’s “social district” has a set of rules, which includes the use of approved cups only, and drinking of alcoholic beverages purchased at approved businesses.Read more
