Reserved parking spaces pop up in Kalamazoo for curbside restaurant customers

The coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, outbreak presents a large challenge for local bars and restaurants, requiring all of them to close their dining areas, but local organization are helping out.
The Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership worked with the city of Kalamazoo and City Center Parking to erect the barriers to reserve parking spaces so eateries can deliver food to curbside customers.
“We’ve really got to be protecting their one opportunity to still bring in some revenue in, and that is through that to go, delivery and curbside pickup. We think this was really critical and still gives them some opportunity to keep the lights on, so to speak,” Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership President Andrew Haan said.
