Workshops
The Partnership is teaming up with SCORE to support Downtown Kalamazoo businesses through workshops. If you own or work for a Downtown business, check out our upcoming QuickBooks workshop on Wednesday, June 19, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Free for Downtown businesses. Register here – spots are limited!
Volunteers
Thanks to all of our community partners who volunteered during our first annual Spring Spruce UP DOWNtown event!
A total of 169 volunteers covered 80 blocks of downtown Kalamazoo, accomplishing projects including planting 750+ flowers and grasses in 40 planters/garden beds, distributing 30 cubic yards of mulch and 40 pounds of grass seed, and painting the playground at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place.

Beats on Bates | June-August | Bates Alley
Beats on Bates is a weekly summer music series launching Wednesday, June 5th and will continue each Wednesday through August 28.
Grab drinks or dinner at one of the Bates Alley businesses or just sit and relax and enjoy the music with family and friends.
Make sure to pack your workout gear on Tuesday nights this summer for Workout Wednesdays in downtown Kalamazoo!
Starting June 5, the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership is partnering with local health and fitness focused organizations to provide a free fitness class at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place. Classes start at 5:30 p.m.
June Jubilee returns with all your favorites from the Do-Dah Parade to the Annual Summer Bag-of-Books Sale to Art on the Mall! Check out the full lineup of June Jubilee events here.
Mark your calendars for 2019 Kalamazoo Pride June 7-8! Join OutFront Kalamazoo for two days of fun, food, family and friends while supporting your local gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and allied community.
Tickets are $10 Friday, $10 Saturday if purchased at the gate. $15 two-day passes are available here.
VITZ Hop-Up Block Party | June 7 | Bates Alley
Join Vintage in the Zoo on June 7 for the 1st “VITZ Hop-Up Block Party!”
This event series will take place every first Friday of the month through October at Bates Alley from 4-8pm, and will feature a tightly curated/rotating selection of the best local vendors you have come to know, artists, music, and a soon to be announced large-scale community art project!
Autos & Eats on the Alley | June 15 | Bates Alley
Fresh Coast Auto Detail Presents Autos & Eats On The Alley, an outdoor event for car enthusiasts that will take place under the lights of beautiful Bates Alley
A variety of spotlight vehicles will be highlighted on the alley, along with vehicles in the attached lot. Enjoy Jazz music, outdoor dining or your favorite beverage at Olde Peninsula, fuze kitchen & bar, Green Top Tavern, Coney Island, Grand Traverse Distillery, Tempo Vino Winery, or Ouzos. Free to the public.

Meet the owner! Nelson Nave and Patricia Hirsh have owned Kalamazoo Antiques Market since 1994. Rodger Parzyck opened The Heritage Company in 1986, but has been in its current location since 1996.
What do you sell? Kalamazoo Antiques Market sells antiques, vinyl, vintage clothing and collectibles. The Heritage Company gathers and sells architectural salvage: materials taken out of older buildings or houses due to demolition or remodeling.
What’s Unique? Kalamazoo Antiques Market recently welcomed 2 new dealers, bringing the market to a total of 15 dealers who bring in many different unique items for sale. The Heritage Company carries product ranging from doors to plumbing supplies, but their specialty is in the restoration and resale of historic light fixtures.
What’s New? Although there is construction N. Edwards Ave., Kalamazoo Antiques Market and Heritage Company doors are still open! Parking is available on Michigan Ave. and in the parking lots north and south of the building.
