Rootead Juneteenth Celebration

Our Juneteenth celebration is going to be one to remember. The theme this year is celebrating Afro-Caribbean culture! This family-friendly event will be a celebration of Black culture, music, our freedom, and joy. The event will be free to attend and is open to the public. Artisans, local businesses, community organizations, and food trucks will be a fun part of the festival. Dr. Kandace Lavender, also known as “MC DC” will emcee, and DJ Boogie will deejay. RYDDE (Rootead Youth Drum & Dance Ensemble) will perform, and there will be other musical acts as well as a children’s play area, a family tent, and an art showcase.
