Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership announces 2020 event schedule, sponsorship opportunities
Downtown Kalamazoo is the place to be in 2020. More than 80 days of event programming are planned for a busy calendar of events coordinated by the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership, with several returning favorites and a brand new event.
“Events are key to the success of downtown Kalamazoo,” Events Director Sue Huggett said. “Downtowns are key places where ideas, community and capital come together – our events are designed to unify these efforts to create a vibrant and healthy downtown that everyone can enjoy.”
This year, the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership kicks off its event calendar with a new event called Makers Month that celebrates invention, creativity, curiosity and hands-on learning at local businesses in downtown Kalamazoo.
Additionally, due to the overwhelming positive response, the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership will bring back three events introduced in 2019 with additional dates – one additional Autos & Eats show, and 5 additional Beats on Bates and Workout Wednesday dates. Spring Spruce UP DOWNtown and SkeleTour will also return this year.
Rounding out the calendar are events that are traditional Kalamazoo community events – Summer Sidewalk Sales, Kalamazoo Holiday Parade, Santa’s Workshop, Bronson Park Tree Lighting and the Holly Jolly Trolley. All Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership events are free to the public.
Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership offers more than 150 sponsorship opportunities for its events – each of which elevate community organization’s visibility, brand and connection to the community. In 2019 alone, Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership events brought more than 35,000 visitors to downtown to enjoy holiday festivities, skeletons, live music and more.
