This week, we are celebrating downtown women-owned businesses! In honor of International Women’s Day this past Sunday, we will be highlighting our amazing downtown women business leaders on social media. If you’re interested in being featured – please let us know!

Shaking off the winter blues

It’s time to shake off those winter blues, do a little spring cleaning and beautify the downtown. 

Celebrate Earth Day by volunteering for Spring Spruce UP DOWNtown Kalamazoo!  – Wednesday, April 22.  Volunteer on your own, bring a friend, or rally a team to participate! 

Volunteer tasks will include anything from planting flowers, to picking up trash, power washing, window washing, weeding, painting, and light landscaping. Sign up TODAY!

This March, get out of the house, come downtown and get your creative juices flowing at a variety of great making opportunities downtown Kalamazoo has to offer.

20+ downtown businesses are working together to help promote and celebrate invention, creativity, curiosity and hands-on learning. All ages will enjoy a host of events, promotions and workshops scheduled throughout the month – from creating your own glass masterpieces to learning how to take award-winning smartphone pictures and more!

Judy Sarkozy has owned and operated Sarkozy Bakery in downtown Kalamazoo for 42 years. 

Looking for the unique? Sarkozy Bakery is a community landmark judged the 3rd best bakery in Michigan.

What’s new? When Sarkozy Bakery first opened its doors on February 25, 1978, their offerings were few but delicious. Forty-two years later, they have expanded into offering breakfast & lunch items in addition to baked goods. They’re excited to share what’s up their sleeves in the upcoming months!⁠⠀
