DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENTS
September 9, 2019
What We’re Up To
With summer winding down, downtown Kalamazoo is busy looking to the fall and winter season! Read about some of our exciting efforts below:
Alleyway Activation Open House
Following the great success of Bates Alley, Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership is looking for YOUR input on the next downtown Kalamazoo alley project on Tuesday, September 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Cityscape Events (125 S. Kalamazoo Mall).

Join us at our Alleyway Activation Open House to learn more about the next alley slated for activation and provide your feedback on what should be a part of the alley transformation. You will see examples from other alleys, brainstorm with local designers on possible ideas and walk the alleyway for inspiration.
Kalamazoo Holiday Parade

The 2019 Kalamazoo Holiday Parade registration is still open! We are looking for organizations and businesses to bring holiday cheer to this year’s parade on November 16. For just $75 you can be a part of this annual tradition everyone looks forward to – registration ends October 1, 2019.

Upcoming Events
SkeleTour | October 5, 2019 | Bates Alley
Downtown is getting a little spooky, and a lot silly!

This October, downtown streets will be adorned with specially-crafted, one-of-a-kind skeletons for the first SkeleTour Downtown Kalamazoo! From wild and wacky, to spooky and eerie, these life-sized skeletons reflect local businesses and organizations unique to Kalamazoo.

SkeleTour begins Saturday, October 5 with a kick off party on Bates Alley! Bates Alley will be lined with kids activities, live music, and a professional pumpkin carving demonstration. Afterward, make sure to walk, or take the Trolley of Terror, around downtown to enjoy the wide variety of skeletons and even a Skeleton Bar Crawl.
Business Highlight
