We would like to invite each of you and your respective businesses, companies and organizations to participate in the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership’s Spring Spruce UP DOWNtown on Thursday, May 23. This is a great opportunity for us as an organization to act on our core value of collaboration, bring the Downtown community together in a meaningful way, and a great team building activity for Downtown businesses and organizations.
Volunteer tasks will include anything from planting flowers, to picking up trash, power washing, window washing, weeding and light landscaping. Our organization will provide all necessary equipment and tools, including work gloves, shovels, rakes, brooms, trash bags and dust masks.
Volunteers can sign up for morning and/or afternoon shifts, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. Each shift will begin at the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership offices at 162 E. Michigan Ave. Snacks, water, and lunch will be provided. In the event of severe weather, the event will be postponed until Thursday, May 30.
Teams and/or individuals can REGISTER HERE for either the 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. volunteer opportunity. We hope you will all consider joining us for Spring Spruce UP DOWNtown!
2019 MARINARAthon 5/3/2019 There’s still time to REGISTER for the 2nd annual MARINARAthon outdoor pasta dinner, Friday, May 3rd! This event offers a unique, outdoor, family-style dining experience, under the lights in DeVisser Alley, located next to Gazelle Sports. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Tickets are $10 per person and includes pasta, marinara sauce, and meatballs, bread and a non-alcoholic beverage; gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available, catered by Mangia Kitchen & Bar. Gazelle Sports will host a Family Fun Zone of activities for the entire family, including sign-making station to cheer for one of the many runners participating one of the Kalamazoo Marathon races!
