Downtown Kalamazoo Retail & Restaurant Association

The Downtown Kalamazoo Retail and Restaurant Association (DKRRA) is a private, non-profit organization that exists to be a unified voice in the promotion of the restaurant, retail, service, and entertainment businesses of Downtown Kalamazoo. 

For nearly a decade, the DKRRA has worked to enhance our position as the premier Downtown in West Michigan and ensure that the collective best interests of our businesses are served. We do this in a variety of ways including:

  • Providing a political voice for issues that affect us
  • Hosting Downtown-based promotions and community fundraising events like Style Stroll, Restaurant Week, and Holiday Wassailing, designed to increase traffic and exposure
  • Providing a communication network of Downtown business owners and managers with networking, business strengthening and idea-sharing opportunities such as our bi-monthly general membership meetings, our annual Connecting with Customers conference and our Small Business Roundtables

The four committees of the DKRRA are comprised of:

Marketing Committee

Creates and manages DKRRA events which have include Kalamazoo Restaurant Week and Girlfriends Getaway. You can find more information on


Education Committee

Organizes the Small Business Roundtables and the annual Connecting with Customers conference.


Advocacy Committee

Holds the biannual City Commission Forum and provides a voice to represent the DKRRA membership on issues and concerns.


Membership Services Committee

Promotes membership in the organization.
